Festung von Iznájar (Hisn-Ashar). An der höchstgelegenen Stelle des Ortsteils La Villa erhebt sich majestätisch die Festung der maurischen Nasriden – Symbol und Keimzelle des Städtchens, deren Bau Mitte des achten Jahrhunderts begonnen wurde. Die ursprünglichen Baumeister waren vermutlich Hispanogoten, das Bauwerk wurde jedoch bis ins 15. Jahrhundert hinein immer wieder umgebaut und erweitert. Der arabische Name Hisn-Ashar ist zudem auch der Namensgeber dieses malerischen Ortes.

Führungen im Besucherzentrum des Stausees von Iznájar. Das Besucherzentrum des Stausees von Iznájar befindet sich in Valdearenas etwa zwei Kilometer vom Ortskern entfernt.
