Esta plaza rinde homenaje al poeta español Rafael Alberti. Fue inaugurada por el propio escritor en 1989 cuando regresó por segunda vez a la localidad.  En 1920, Alberti visita Iznájar donde encuentra inspiración para escribir su libro La Arboleda Perdida que incluye el poema “Torre de Iznájar”, poema que podemos observar sobre el mosaico de azulejos que preside esta plaza. En 2018 recibió el segundo premio en el Concurso de Patios de la Subbética.

This square pays tribute to the spanish poet Rafael Alberti. It was inaugurated by the writer himself in 1989 when he came back for the second time in the village. In 1920, Alberti visited Iznajar and was inspirated with the writing of his book “The Lost Grove” (La Arboleda Perdida), a poem that we can find and read on the tiles Mosaic in the middle of the square. In 2018 the square won the second award of the Patio de la Subbetica Competition.
